Essential oils (volatile oils, ethereal oils, aetherolea) are all-natural compounds extracted from the root, peta, rind, leaf or bark of a plant using several different methods, but typically distillation.
Most essential oils carry antimicrobial, antispasmodic, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral components. Essential oils can be used for almost anything! It seems crazy, but true! With the help of the right essential oils you can: fight cold and flu-like symptoms, soothe sore and achy muscles, heal various skin conditions, alleviate pain, balance hormones, improve digestion, prevent/reduce cellulite and wrinkles, and even clean your home!! Essential oils have components to help with anxiety, stress, and depression. Carrier oils are used dilute and safely use essential oils, as well as enhance the components of essential oils. Most common carrier oils to dilute are jojoba oil, sunflower oil, fractionated coconut oil (FCO), castor oil and argan oil. Of course, there are many more carrier oils that can be used to dilute essential oils safely!
